COVID-19 Cases Increase in Lake and Mendocino Counties

Mendocino County is seeing a surge in COVID-19. The Public Health Officer, Dr. Noemi Doohan says there is community spread. Four new cases were confirmed yesterday. There are currently 22 active cases. Dr. Doohan says many cases in the county are due to gatherings – and gatherings of any size are banned. Changes to social bubbles reducing the size to 6 will be coming in the new health order this week. No restrictions are being loosened at this time.

Lake County has new COVID-19 cases. Public Health Officer, Dr. Gary Pace, says active COVID-19 cases have jumped by 12, so Lake County sits at 54 total cases, with 16 active, and 3 currently hospitalized; 1 was transferred to a higher level of care in another County. Pace says community transmission has probably occurred; the new and the new cases stem from a variety of sources.
