MCSO Deputy Saves a Man’s Life with NARCAN

A Mendocino County Sheriff’s Deputy used NARCAN to save a man after a suspected opioid overdose. According to the Sheriff’s Office, the deputy was on patrol in Ukiah when he was flagged down by a motorist.who said a man was laying on the sidewalk, unresponsive. Believing the man was having an opioid overdose-related event, the deputy administered NARCAN, and the man immediately responded. Since MCSO began to issue NARCAN in April of 2019 there have been three other situations where deputies have saved lives by administering the opioid antidote medication.
