State Parks Lifeguard Awarded Medal of Valor

State Parks Lifeguard Ean Miller was awarded the highest lifeguard award from the United States Lifesaving Association this weekend. Miller was presented the Medal of Valor for saving two people from the waters off the Mendocino Coast in 2019. The Medal of Valor award is given in recognition of a lifeguard who voluntarily risks their life, to an extraordinary degree, in saving, or attempting to save another person, or who sacrificed themselves for the benefit of others.
