Mendocino County Extends Moratorium on Hemp Cultivation

The Mendocino County Board of Supervisors this week extended the temporary moratorium on the cultivation of industrial hemp and the cultivation of genetically modified organisms within the unincorporated areas of the county. The ban lasts until Feb. 24th, 2020, and the purpose is to give the board time to consider what changes the county would need to make to regulations and ordinances regarding hemp cultivation.
