Analyst Suggests Higher PG&E Bills if Wildfires Persist

An energy analyst says PG&E bills could double if wildfires continue to be as devastating as they have been the past two years. Steven Weissman, a lecturer with UC Berkeley’s Goldman School of Public Policy, told Governor Gavin Newsom that if the utility rackedup billions more in wildfire damages like it did in 2017 and 2018, rates would skyrocket, and customers could see monthly gas and electric bills jump to $250.00.
