Poor Air Quality Causes Some Classes to be Cancelled

Poor air quality has caused classes for some schools in Lake County to be canceled today. The smoke is coming from the Camp Fire in Butte County. That fast-moving and dangerous blaze grew to 20,000 acres yesterday and is threatening 15,000 structures. Yesterday, both the Ukiah and Lakeport Police departments issued alerts to let residents know that the visible smoke in the area was coming from the Camp Fire. Kelseyville and Lakeport Unified School Districts kept students inside yesterday, and canceled classes for today.
