Person of Interest in Unsolved Murder Case Arrested on Other Charges

A woman who was arrested for financial elder abuse is also person of interest in an unsolved Lakeport murder. The Lake County District Attorney says 63-year-old Linda Ann Mafrice, of Clearlake, and her daughter, 29-year-old Meghan Mariana DeMarco of Kelseyville, were arrested last week. Both are charged with financial elder abuse, grand theft, conspiracy, and other charges. Both are scheduled to be arrainged tomorrow afternoon. Mafrice is also a person of interest in the murder of Barbara LaForge, who was fatally shot while opening her frame shop on Oct. 8, 2002. LaForge was married at the time to Dan Hamblin, who was also in a relationship with Mafrice. They had moved in together and Mafrice was Hamblin’s health care provider. He is the victim in the financial elder abuse case.
