Updates on Area Wild Fires

Forward progress on the Peach Fire in Mendocino County has been stopped. The fire broke out yesterday afernoon near the intersection of Peachland Road and Highway 128. The fire had grown to about 20-25 acres. Firefighters battled the blaze with air support.

The cause of the 3.4-acre Anderson Island fire in Lake County earlier this week was mowing. The fire did not damage any structures.

The Pawnee Fire near Clearlake Oaks remained at 15,000 acres and 92 percent containment as of last night. Full containment is expected by tomororw. Damage inspections have begun in the fire area, where at least nine structures have been destroyed.
