MCSO Finds Debris in Eel River from Missing Family

The Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office says they’ve recovered debris and personal items which confirms that a vehicle seen plunging into the Eel river last week belonged to a family that went missing. The California Highway Patrol received a call on April 6th that a vehicle had gone over a steep embankment along Highway 101 near Leggett. The family of four – two parents and two children – was traveling home to Santa Clarita from a vacation in in Oregon. A joint press conference on the recent findings is being held today with the California Highway Patrol and the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office at the Leggett Cal FIRE Station
