COSTCO Project Appealed by City Council Member

Ukiah City Council Member Steve Scalmanini has appealed the Planning Commission’s decision to approve the Costco project. His objection is over the lack of solar energy to be produced on the site, and he called it inconsistent with several goals and policies of the current City Council. Mayor Jim Brown reacted by saying he’s disappointed in Scalmanini’s action, and says the rest of the city council is united in support of the project. The building of Costco was first approved in 2014 but was appealed over the EIR. The lanning Commission and City Council approved the project again last month.
