Crash Sparks Wildland Fire in Kelseyville

An evacuation advisory for Kelseyville residents was issued and lifted yesterday after a crash sparked a wildland fire just after 4:30 yesterday afternoon near the intersection of Hwy 29 and Hwy 175. The CHP said that a 17-year-old male driver of a pickup truck failed to slow down for traffic in front of him As he swerved to miss hitting the car in front of him, he hit another pickup in the northbound lane. That vehicle overturned, went off the roadway and caught fire. There were only minor injuries in the crash. The Bottle fire burned 75 acres and was 50-percent contained as of last night.
