Residents in Ukiah Participate in Immigration Protest

A small group in Ukiah gathered yesterday to participate in national “Day without Immigrants.” The nationwide protest against President Donald Trump’s immigration policies encouraged immigrants across the country to skip work and school. There were false rumors that ICE agents were present in Ukiah, but a Department of Homeland Security vehicle was spotted monitoring a protest in Fortuna yesterday. A statement from the Federal Protective Service says personnel were conducting a facility security assessment of a building there, and that no photographs of protesters were taken.
