LCSO Warns About Jury Duty Scam Calls

The Lake County Sheiff’s Office is warning residents about a jury duty telephone scam. The calls come from an individual claiming to be a Sheriff’s Office employee who tells the victim that they’ve missed jury duty. The caller insists that the victim must pay money to the Sheriff’s Office or face arrest. The caller than instructs the victim to pay a $500 fine by going to CVS Pharmacy and completing an “electronic bond voucher” in the scammers alleged name. LCSO is reminding residents that no court or law enforcement agency makes intimidating phone calls and demands money from citizens.
