4 MCSO Deputies Shot at Humbolt County Standoff Suspect

Four Mendocino County Sheriff’s Deputies and a Ukiah Police officer are among those who fired shots in a stand-off earlier this month. The Mendocino County SWAT team assisted in the standoff in Humbolt County, where the suspect was killed after exchanging gunfire with law enforcement in the 17-hour standoff. The Critical Incident Response Team investigation on the incident is ongoing.

-Crash and Shots Fired Near Lower Lake

There was a report of a vehicle crash and shots fired last night at Spruce Grove Road and Cantwell Ranch Road near Lower Lake. One person suffered a gunshot wound. Lake County Fire, Cal Fire, and Lake County Sheriff’s Deputies responded. Few details have been released, but we do know an air ambulance and a ground ambulance were called to the scene.

1 Critically Injured in Head-On Collision

There was a head-on collision on Highway 29 near Thomas Drive last night that critically injured one person. Another victim received minor injuries. The front ends of both vehicles sustained major damage. The accident happend on 11th at Central Park. The critically injured patient was transported by Kelseyville Fire ambulance to Lampson Field, where REACH 6 did a transport to an out-of-county trauma center.

DUI Arrest in Ukiah Car Crash

A 21-year-old man has been arrested by the Ukiah Police Department on suspicion of driving under the influence and causing injury following a collison that happened Wednesday night on Airport Park Boulevard. Daniel Christopher Browne crashed into a black Toyota 4Runner. The Ukiah Valley Fire Authority used the Jaws-of-Life to safely remove two people who were in the 4Runner.

Neighbors Complain About Mendocino College Football Players

Neighbors of a Ukiah home where members of the Mendocino College football team are living are complaining about partying, and garbage. The College President has told the players to keep the home clean and the noise down.

Clayton Fire LAC Runs Through Today

A reminder that the Clayton Fire Local Assistance Center will run through today and may be extended depending on need. Hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. The LAC is at 16195 Main Street, Lower Lake. Stop by to complete a brief survey, and receive a variety of information and assistance.

Child Safety Seat Check-Up event for victims of the Clayton Fire

CHP and the Lake County Fire Protection District will be holding a Child Safety Seat Check-Up event for the victims of the Clayton Fire. The event will be held on Sunday August 28th, 2016 starting at 9:00 am and will end at 12:00 pm. The event will be held at the Lake County Fire Protection District Fire Station 65 located at 16354 Main Street in Lower Lake. Child Safety Seat Technician’s will be on site providing free Child Safety seats and to assist and demonstrate the proper installation. Any seats that were damaged or destroyed in the fire and any seats which are expired will be replaced, while supplies last. 42nd Annual Great Day in Elk Celebration

The 42nd annual Great Day in Elk celebration is tomororw from noon until 7:00 p.m. At noon, the parade through town on Highway 1 will begin. Festivities continue at the Greenwood Community Center.
