Two vehicles burned in Ukiah

Two cars burned after accidentally being set on fire in Ukiah. It happened in a driveway on Fairway Avenue. The Daily Journal reports, A neighbor reported the fire yesterday afternoon after seeing smoke. The Ukiah Valley Fire Authority says there was some charring to the home’s porch. A resident of the home was using jumper cables to charge batteries between his two vehicles, a Jeep and a Toyota RAV4. Later on he was using a leaf blower when he noticed smoke and flames coming from his driveway. The man tried to put out the flames with a hose because the fire had grown too large at that point already. His wife and four young children watched as firefighters from the UVFA and Cal Fire worked to keep the fire from spreading to the home. No injuries were reported.
