Mendocino County Attorney Resigns

Mendocino County attorney Doug Losak has resigned. His announcment last week came as a surprise to the Board of Supervisors. Losak told them he’s going back into private practice, and has accepted a position with a Ukiah law firm. Losak’s resignation should become effective late next month. Losak’s salary became an issue last year when a raise from $107,000 per year, to $143,000 was considerd by the board. Mendocino County Sheriff Tom Allman called pay raise is inappropriate because of an incident back in 2012 when a deputy pulled Losak and found a small amount of marijuana. Losak plead no-contest and his record was cleared.
