Public hearing set for final budget in Mendocino County

The Mendocino County Board of Supervisors will have a public hearing for the new budget. The Public Hearing on the final budget for Fiscal Year 2015-2016 is on Tuesday, September 8th at 9:00 a.m. The Daily Journal reports, However, if not concluded that day, the hearing can be continued on a day-to-day basis for up to 10 days until completed. Details of the recommended budget include revenues of $228.8 million and appropriations of $239.3 million, which the document states represents an overall increase of nearly 1.5 percent in spending from the prior fiscal year, along with approximately $179.4 million in general fund spending. Members of the public can appear to ask questions, but the county is asking that any related correspondence be submitted to the Clerk of the Board by Sept. 2.
