Many Felt The 5.7 Quake

Yesterday’s 5.7 quake off Cape Mendocino was felt by many on the coast yesteday afternoon. People living near the coast in Northern California say there was plenty of shaking going on. The U.S.Geological Survey says the moderate quake was centered 40 miles southwest of Eureka in Humboldt County. No injuries were reported. Residents in Fort Bragg, Willits, Mendocino, Little River, Albion,, Laytonville and Elk all reported feeling the temblor. There have been 12 small earthquakes since that quake yesterday and the USGS estimates that in the next seven days, 20 – 30 small aftershocks are expected, some of which could be large enough to be felt in the Cape Mendocino and Ferndale areas.
