Arrests made in homicide investigation

Authorities arrested two people, and subsequently released one of the suspects, yesterday in the ongoing investigation of a Covelo homicide. Earlier this week, the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office, reported that a woman identified as Rosalena Bell Rodriguez, 21, was found shot to death in the middle of the road in the 78000 block of Hopper Lane in Covelo Sunday morning. A Tuesday autopsy revealed she died of multiple gunshot wounds. Sheriff’s detectives and the Mendocino County District Attorney’s Office continue to investigate Rodriguez’s death, and made three arrests. Two of them were connected with Rodriguez’s death, according to the MCSO, and only one is still suspected in the homicide. Anyone with information that could help the investigation of Rodriguez’s death is urged to leave a message on the MCSO tip line at 234-2100.
