Sports Highlights from the Record Bee:

The Coastal Mountain Conference Tennis Championships wrapped up yesterday afternoon at Mendocino College in Ukiah. St. Helena and Anderson Valley tied for the team title with 13 points, one more than Middletown in third place. Kelseyville was fourth with nine points. Middletown’s boys’ doubles team of Cassidy Parker and Robert Amante won the tournament championship. Middletown’s girls’ doubles team of Ariana Diaz and Elena Garay came in second as did Kelseyville’s Claire Vargas in girls’ singles.

After losing its first two games on Friday at the Fort Bragg Tournament, the Clear Lake varsity baseball team bounced back with a 5-1 victory over McKinleyville in its final game on Saturday. Clear Lake lost 4-1 to eventual tourney champ Fortuna on Friday and then dropped a 3-2 decision to Valley Christian.

The Fredrickson brothers — Austin, Blake and Jonathan — represented the Punisher Wrestling Club of Lower Lake at the State Championships on Saturday and Sunday and came away with a state championship in the 55-pound, age 9-10 division. Austin came in first, Blake took second and Jonathan was fourth. It’s the 11th state championship claimed by the Punishers in the past four years.
