City Wants LUSD to Help Pay for Pool

The Lakeport City Council is hoping to recoup some of the $70,000 they’ve lost in an arrangement with the Lakeport Unified School District. They agreed to split the costs of the renovation and maintenance of the Westshore Pool back in 2004. Then the LUSD fell on hard times, and couldn’t meet their payments. For the past few years, the city has been taking care of it, and even recently purchased a new pump for the pool. Now that the LUSD is getting more state funding, the city hoped the district would start pitching in on the bills. So far, that hasn’t happened.
